Light Fixtures at St. James Episcopal Church New London, CT.
St.James Episcopal Church, New London, Connecticut is an historic parish dating from 1725. It has the distinction of having been the parish of Rt. Rev. Samuel Seabury, The First Episcopal Bishop in The United States. The fixture, consecrated in 1850, is the third church building and provides a magnificent resting place for the remains of the Bishop, who served as Rector from 1784 to 1796, while he was also Bishop of Connecticut and Rhode Island.
We were engaged to repair and restore 14 magnificent 4' tall lighting structures. These units were in the main church. Parishoners were complaining about not being able to read their prayer books, plus the fixtures clearly required updating. The fixtures were converted from incandescent to metal halide, and cloth and paper diffusers were replaced with art glass and the fixtures were thoroughly cleaned and refinished.
